Maritimes - Part 2 and Giving Thanks!

Before I share a bit about the rest of our trip
to the Maritimes in September,
I want to post a few pictures of our recent activities ...

The mantel sparsely decorated for this season!

So thankful for these two!

And these two!

We celebrated with the farmer's family ... a quick dinner at Swiss Chalet
and a hike on beautiful nearby trails.
I am so thankful for this fun loving bunch!
It was a good day.

So thankful to celebrate with our wee family too ...

Our son-in-law ... he always does a great job at carving the roast!

She doesn't like to have her picture taken but this girl has my heart!

She posted this on her IG today.

Use the Good Dishes!!!

Can't tell you how thankful I am for the loved ones that
God has put into my life!

Our trip to the Maritimes seems like a distant dream.
After St. Andrews By The Sea we headed to Saint John, NB

Saint John, NB - reversing falls under that bridge!

Hurricane Dorion's damage was evident in the city's downtown square.

The famous City Market - built on a slant!

We did a walking tour of the historic
brown stones near the harbour front.

The Three Sisters historical lamp.
This gas lit lamp guided sailors into the harbour.

Throughout the city were beautiful salmon sculptures, all special pieces of art!

Wall art/graffiti on many walls and buildings - such talent!

Engaging with this John Hooper time piece clock sculpture guy for a bit...

One day in this beautiful city was simply not long enough!
It was cold and windy but didn't hinder us from enjoying Saint John.

Next stop ... the unforgettable province of Nova Scotia.
I can hear the bagpipe welcome from here.

In the meantime ...... feeling like deep Fall over here. Thankfully the soy beans have been harvested with more success than expected, the garlic has been planted and the new tulip bulbs are in the ground.

Sorry about the grey blob at the bottom of this post. I couldn't get rid of it??? eek!

  1. Oh a wonderful Thanksgiving all the way around. Your daughter is a beautiful gal who looks quite a bit like her mother. How cool that she posted that sweet thank you for the amazing dinner.

I enjoyed seeing a closer look of St. John, birthplace of my maternal grandfather. It really is a beautiful city and that marketplace! Wow.

My niece, E’s mother, went to college at Dalhousie for a year so I am also a wee bit familiar with Nova Scotia. It’s a beautiful, albeit somewhat stark, province. Looking forward to your post on that!

Oh, I shared with my family your thoughts on Skowhegan and points east, We all had a good chuckle. 😄

Saint John is a charming city, based on your photos. I know you enjoyed this special trip with your hubby!

  3. Coming in late to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving. It looks like you had a wonderful meal and time with your loved ones. Those grands couldn't be cuter. So sweet. Your trip looks great, too. I'll have to see if I saw part 1. At the conference we attended we met sisters from your part of Canada, Kathy and Rosalie. We also met a gentleman from the Niagara area. Thought of you when we talked to them. Now I'm hungry for a Thanksgiving meal!!

  4. Just read both posts on your trip to The Maritimes. Looks like a glorious vacation -- the scenery and the lobster and clams dinners both had me drooling. Vacations are nice but it's even better to come home to your precious loved ones! The Thanksgiving meal looked amazing!

  5. A belated Happy Thanksgiving to you Rosella and so nice to hear from you! Your Thanksgiving dinner and table decor look lovely! We have 4 grandchildren in school now - Josie is in Gr 2 and Oscar, Isaiah and Kinsey are all in kindergarten. It happens way too fast!! Looks like you had an awesome trip to the Maritimes. Dorian did a number on us - we lost 13 trees around our property - what a mess! But on the bright side- lots of firewood for next year!

Hope for the Season

First Snow! November 14-16 held some "bench visits" with the Leis family, to commemorate that day/week 3 years ago! We miss him ...
