Life is Good Indeed!

What a week!

Guyabitos

"The Help" by Kathryn Stockett - What a great book and the best part of all is I got to read it on the beach in Mexico!!!

How privileged I am to have such a wonderful get-away time to celebrate the big 6-0!!!  We had an amazing relaxing time and met some awesome folks!  Most of the guests at the resort were from CANADA and not only that - the majority were from the Western Provinces.  We walked on the beach, ate the best shrimp I've ever tasted, went to a colourful Mexican Market, read and lounged for a whole week!

La Penita Market
Salvador's famous Coconut Shrimp!

We had such fun with our new friends Ev and Leonard from Saskatchewan!  It was like we've known them forever.....miss you guys already!

I've added avocado, lime, pineapple, nachos, and tortillas to my grocery list for this week!

Life is good..........even though we are back to reality with a dusting of white snow on the ground.

  2. Happy belated birthday.....the years do go by so fast. How nice that you could celebrate in Mexico....and meet some new friends. We have done that on holidays as well and we keep in touch. The world is full of wonderful people.
Coming home to reality....that's life. May God give you a great year!

  5. Oh, the sun and the sand look lovely on a cold January day like today! And what a great read- I read "The Help" last summer. I'm waiting for my daughter to finish reading it so we can watch the movie together!

  8. Hi Rosella,
Judie suggested I take a look at your blog today. Awesome! I noticed that you were in Guayabitos in Mexico. How did you hear about that place? It's a favourite of ours. We used to go there during our March Break. Haven't been for quite a few years now. We even know the La Penita market. Where did you stay there? Such a coincidence! And such a great place to celebrate a birthday!
    Belated happy birthday!

  9. Thanks Wayne - this was our second time there and we stayed at Decameron Los Cocos Resort. Friends of ours spent several winters in Guayabitos in past years and told us about the resort there. We really like it too! It's so low key and relaxing!

Hope for the Season

First Snow! November 14-16 held some "bench visits" with the Leis family, to commemorate that day/week 3 years ago! We miss him ...
